Materials Manager
SUMMARY OF JOB FUNCTIONS:
Coordinates and directs the Materials-Department, interfaces with all plants and related departments to adhere Company policies and achieve 100% customer satisfaction, delivering parts on time, which meet or exceed customer expectations.
Also, to contribute to a humane work environment where fairness, equity and non-discriminatory practices are the standard.
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS REQUIRED
Education: University or business Degree (BA)
Skills: Good verbal & written communications skills
Excellent organizational, leadership & time management skills
Computer literate
Experience: Minimum 5 years of related experience, preferably in the automotive industry.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. POSITION DUTIES
- Provide leadership and support for scheduling, plants and subcontractors, production and scrap reporting.
- Oversee Shipping procedures and requirements, invoicing and billing.
- Provide support for the accounting department with billing and physical inventory reports.
- Liason with the Quality Department for program start-up procedures.
- Support production by attending weekly meetings, address and resolve issues and provide customer and supplier information.
- Achieve cost savings through new product development and market testing.
- Inventory management for purchased parts.
- Continually strive towards continuous improvement.
- Perform, direct and carry out any and all other assignments as management so directs.

2. SAFETY
- Follow company safety rules as per policy including wearing personal protective equipment, 100% of the time. To ensure that all procedures under the Occupational Health and Safety Act are being followed.
- Take action (where qualified) to correct or remove all workplace hazards and unsafe work conditions by:
(i) Taking action where qualified.
(ii) Reporting to supervisor where necessary.
A worker shall:
- Work in compliance with the provisions of the Occupational Health & Saftey Act and the regulations.
- Use or wear the equipment, protective devices or clothing that the worker’s employer requires to be used or worn.
- Report to his or her employer or supervisor the absence of or defect in any equipment or protective device of which the worker is aware and which may endanger himself, herself, or another worker.
- Report to his or her employer or supervisor any contravention of this Act or the regulations or the existence of any hazard of which he or she knows.
No worker shall:
- Remove or make ineffective any protective device required by the regulations or by his or her employer, without providing an adequate temporary protective device and when the need for removing or making ineffective the protective device has ceased, the protective device shall be replaced immediately.
- Use or operate any equipment, machine, device or thing or work in a manner that may endanger himself, herself or any other worker.
- Engage in any prank, contest, feat of strength, unnecessary running or rough and boisterous conduct.
3. SECURITY AND HOUSEKEEPING
- To ensure that no person(s) enters upon company property for the purpose of solicitation. Report all solicitations to your Supervisor immediately.
- To ensure that no unauthorized people enter the company facilities. Verify that all doors are locked and lights, equipment, etc. are turned off when required.
- Ensure that the work area is clean and safe at all times.
- Must not disclose to any person, without the Company's consent, any information concerning its inventions, processes, methods, trade secrets, or secret procedures owned or used by the Company or any confidential information in any way relating to the Company's business or affairs.
